Lemongrass

East Indian lemongrass is a tall perennial grass native to India and Sri Lanka. Bright green leafy stalks rise, then arch over. Plants typically stand 2–4 ft high and spread 2–3 ft wide. The oil is steam-distilled from the grass.
Lemongrass appears in traditional Indian practice for feverish and infectious complaints. In aromatherapy the oil is used for its sharp citrus–earth scent and as a bright, clearing note in blends.
